In the last few weeks or so, I deleted a lot of posts which have not generated a lot of traffic. But my google search traffic went down from over 600 daily to ca 400 daily. Just curious if this is the result of less internal links because the deletion of posts or other reasons.

    Thanks you in advance!

Before you delete a page... check to see if it's indexed. If it is then why bother deleting it? If the information is bad on those pages or you do a rebuild then I understand. If not it's the same tried and true Cliche' "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Can internal linking structure affect pagerank? YES. It's called PAGERANK for a reason, and not SITERANK. But who cares about Pagerank? Worry about TRAFFIC. And Traffic comes from EXTERNAL Links.

I don't forsee the day when the Search Engines go back to ranking pages on Onsite Factors with any real relevancy besides content Topic... because it's too easily maniupulated.

Thank you for your reply. My posts are all indexed, normally indexed in a few min. At first, my website was not focused< with all sorts of contents. Now focus on consumer products, education and travel. So I took a lot of web 2.0 things out.

If you have a backup put em back. Also, check for dead links to see if you have linked to tons of pages you deleted from pages that still exist.

internal link for site pages are most important because it helps to gain ranking, plus caching and crawling of sites, as well as distribution of page rank.

now google counts, internal pages as backlink aslo.
