How much has Adsense impacted the lives of webmasters in the less developed world?

The average salary in many of these countries like Brazil, India, is around $400-500 a month. I would assume some of the more successul adsense earners are some of the highest earners in those countries.

 

My sense is that in all of those countries there is a developed upper class who are making way more than even the most successfl adsensers in those countries.

 

very true. Third world country elite never report earnings because they would become targets of bandits and kidnappers.

 

I don't know about less developed world or 4th world.
But in Hong Kong $30,000+ is considered handsome which i am already earning from adsense and some other means since 2004

Even an extra $100 matters a lot in india...the avg daily national wage is way below $1 here...

 

I am sure a person earning $1000 a month from adsense in India, is extremely well off.

Well i'm from romania where the medium salary is like 200$ i'm not yet a big earner from Adsense but (but i'm building my site right now discovered this potential very litlle time ago) but i work as a freelancer and make 800-1200$/month wich is triple that both of my parent make each month and it feels very good

Not just adsense but the ability to trade and work with people across the globe has opened many doors, my hindi, sanskrit & gujarati translator has had a life changing experience that now enables him to pay for better education for his son that he could not otherwise afford.

 

I am sure in some of these countries, top adsense earners are probably earning more than some peopel who hold an advanced degree of some sort. For example, software engineers in India get fraction of what they might earn in the US or an European country.

 

Average salary in my country is about $500, but in my city you should consider yourself lucky bastard, if you get more than $300 (yesterday I was offered $400 and it will be my first job - got master degree in electronics in June 2006). Although I'm fairly new to adsense I'm getting close to $1000/month so you can imagine how "happy" I am about this job. On the other hand, adsense is to unstable to relay on.

 

Jmman it is good that you have gotten a proper job as you can never tell when you might get decreased traffic or your website de-index.

 

1000$ a month is good for anyone to do this full time in india.
i guess same is in many other parts in asia.

 

Croatia (I really love it) and some eastern europe countries are in same postion, 400-600$ per month average salary. If I could (when I) make that kind of money I'll be the happiest man here

It really does amaze me that you can live in some countries like India for 1000 a month. In the united states (Los Angeles) where I live most apts here are around 1200-1500 car payments are around 500. If you dont make atleast 2500 a month here you cant even live.

I lived in South America for a year, and I can tell you that UD$100 would be a fortune to a lot of people. However:
* Many poor people don't have access to computers, the internet etc to do AdSense on. Plus, the electricity keeps going off.
* The rich who do have the internet are absolutely super rich already

But hold on, doesn't AdSense serve different ads in different countries? I'm sure I see a lot of UK ads on my pages, because I'm in the UK. Aren't these ads paid for by UK AdWords publishers, paying UK prices? So wouldn't someone in Bolivia get Bolivian ads that are bidded for by Bolivian companies, and therefore perhaps don't pay so well? It's just a guess. Can someone from South America / India / rest of the world comment on this?

 

Here in SI let say average wage is 800€ net. Well but we don't have to pay a lot for other things Car payement 200€ once per year + fuel + food (5 people) 300€/month + all the regular expenses... IN my family 2 people get like 1300€ per month + 3 schoolarships of about 200€ + my google income 50€ per month So I will have to earn quite a lot with google to be above average

 

No, where you live has nothing to do with which ads are shown....It is where the visitor lives

 

I m working in a sw comp and getting a sal of $900 (if I go to the US office of the same comp I ‘ll get $5600 ). This amount is sufficient for a single to have a decent life in INDIA. But with a good mba degree one can get a starting salary of $3500-5000 in India. In last February APPLE closed its R&D center in Bangalore stating that the operation cost in India is more than many EU countries.
It’s not true to say that any one can earn more from adsense than a good university degree. The avg income in India is not high but at the mean time earning from adsense in India is not that easy. I don’t think there are many Indian webmasters who are making sites for US/EU visitors. And we all know what % of total Indian population knows what is a computer (forget about using net.)
