Selling How much for my mp3 site?

Discussion in 'Sites' started by belgin fish, Jun 27, 2010.

    Hey,

I have this mp3 site and I really don't know what to do with it.

the url is http://www.easyasmp3.com/ and it's running off x10media's mp3 search engine script.

It also has a custom theme made by me.

    Has the extended search addon.

has the mobile addon (not sure if it works 100%)

Anyways, the site doesn't get much traffic, about 25 hits a day.

    Assume no revenue.

I'm just wondering how much you think it's worth? and place a bid if you want I may consider it.

    Thanks

The site seems pretty slow for me.. Is that your server or is it the script?

Is it slow for anyone else?

    No Rev.
    No Traffic.
    Not an original concept.
    Not a great domain.
The download links don't work (or are very slow) and I have to assume that it is not hooked into a legitimate service or affiliate so it's P2P or Warez which is illegal.

To me, that makes it worthless. Sites like this are a dime a dozen and everyone is selling one.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you asked what it was worth. 25 hits a day is not "some traffic" it's pretty much "no traffic". A "Hit" can be a bot, spider, or image link. It doesn't mean visitors.

The domain is not horrible, but it doesn't add value to the site. and most legitimate business people and webmasters wouldn't touch a warez site with a 10 ft pole so that cancels out a large demographic of people that would even consider buying it and severely damages any resale value.

Not to mention that most hosts won't let you host it. any hosting company in a country that respects and enforces copyright law is going to make you take it down on the first complaint...so that means I have to spring for offshore hosting..for a site that makes no money and has no traffic.

    I'm looking at it realistically.
I understand that you are looking at it form a creators stand point...you put a lot of time and energy into it, but it's not an attractive acquisition to most people. Most people don't mess around with warez and copy write infringement.
    That's just how it is.

And my personal opinion is, even if I were interested, you can't make any money form people who are looking to steal music, or get stuff for free. It's all kids and people who don't have or don't spend any money.
Your only chance is with CPM, or CPA offers and many of them don't want to be associated with warez.

So your market is very , very small, which to me, severely devalues it.

Yeah I understand, that's why I wasn't looking for too much, mainly just the cost of the script + addons etc.

If you receive complaints there's a feature to block certain song searches so that could come in handy.

Actually, that is pretty handy. You will get some takers..I mean it it's a good looking site, with some cool options, but it will have to be that person who's situation is perfect for hosting and running such a site.

Neither am not interested to raise any heated discussion nor I want to mess up the Op sales thread.
But since hmansfield have brought some points to attention, I would like to present an opinion.

First of all, I respect copyright and IPR. Warez are bad and should not be encouraged.
But what this site does is a simple search. They do not store any file on their servers.
You can find the free music and copyrighted stuff using Google. So should we blacklist google too?
These search engines are merely a tool to find desired data. Its upto the user what they search for and how they use this site.
A well crafted disclaimer page will we good to keep the site up and running.

Offcourse most of the popular hosting would not allow such site to be hosted on their servers.
And as for monetization, any real visitor traffic can be monetized. All you need is to explorer your options.

Again, I am not here to fire up any discussion. Just presenting a view point to think over the things.

No I am not backing up anyone. I am just presenting an opinion.
Now its better for you to concentrate on your site sale.
Whenever you list something for sale, you are bound to face questions. Be ready with answers.
