How much duration does it take for a backlink to be shown either in yahoo site explorer or google webmaster tools? I am building backlinks via squidoo lenses and hubpages. I have started this campaign 3 days back and no any links are shown.
    Another questions is,
If we target to build backlinks for sub-pages rather main domain, will it effect in SERPs?
like if we build backlinks for hxxp://example.com/backlinks.htm rather than hxxp://example.com,will this effect the whole domain?

I usually give it about a week before it shows up in the Yahoo site explorer or Google webmaster tools.

Gaining backlinks for sub-pages is always a good idea and will help in the SERPs of those pages as well as your main.

hi therethe truth is there is no set time it just takes as long as it takes for the search engine crawlers to find you... bu the more interconnected links you have the quicker they will get indexed.... so if you have a link leading to an article and that article leads to a video and that video leads to web 2.0 site and that web 2.0 site leads to a social networking site and then that leads to yuor site then your link will all get indexed much quicker... it works like a web of information leading to each other... all conected so you are pointing the search engine from one backlink to another... :)

As far as internal page linking is concerned, i have a good on site seo optimized site. And for off-site optimization, how about creating squidoo lenses, hubpages, articles ( with targeted keywords as anchor text) then bookmark each one of them in social networking sites like digg, stumbleupon, reddit, delicious etc and ping each one of them? Or, can we use google webmaster tool ( Fetch as google bot option) for faster indexing?

You can ping your backlinks or collect all of your backlinks URL in a text files and use icrocket or similar services to create a rss feed out of it, after that submit that feed to feed aggregation services, that should get your backlinks at least crawled or in some cases indexed by search engine.

Building backlinks to innerpage are always better, its just that some sites have so many inner pages making it ineffective to do so, for those they just opt to concentrate all the backlinks to the main page and try to get PR and high SERP for the main page. In theory if your main page gets good rank it will somewhat lift the rest of the page as well.
