How Much Does It Cost To Cash A Dollar Check In The UK

    Hey

I'm just wondering how much in fees does it cost to cash a check in Dollars into a UK bank account. My friend said this would be about £20 which I thought it would be a bit steep. Soon I am getting a check from both click bank and Google and I don't want to be ripped off. I'm just asking because it takes ages to go to my bank (so far away)

I am with HSBC if this matters.

    Thanks

It is expensive - certainly £5 - £10, but you're only charged per transaction so you can make it more cost effective if you present several USD cheques at the same time.

Can't you ask to be paid in pounds or Euro's? I have never really researched it because I am in the U.S.

Are you talking AdSense here? If so the cheque is in local currency (GBP).

We've used this guy in the past, he doesn't charge, but his exchange rate is a bit creative. I suppose it's 'swings and roundabouts'.
