I'm planning to advertise my products (music CDs) and i was wondering how much it costs to become an advertiser. On their faq, it says: Advertisers pay to activate their programs and must also meet a monthly minimum in transaction revenue or pay a monthly fee if the minimum is not reached. but didn't mention how much is it. Does it depend on the niche or is it based on some factors? And also what dot hey mean "minimum in transaction revenue" and "monthly fee". I can't seem to find this info on their website. Help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Last time I checked I remember seeing £4000 minimum earnings or something. Hope I helped (rep appreciated! )
Hi TatiAnA, Last I knew it was over $5,000 to set up the program, but part of that went into a deposit toward future commissions you pay out. That figure is from a couple years ago so it may have gone up. Then monthly they charge 30% of whatever you end up paying affiliates with a $500 minimum. So if you were just starting and only paid affiliates 1,000 the 1st month - even though you would normally owe CJ $300 - you would still need to pay them $500.
Thanks! Geez, $5,000 that's pretty high. now i need to find out how much is that "part" of the setup fee that goes to future commissions.
http://www.uk.cj.com/advertisers/cj_access_pricing.html - that seems to be the only link that still publishes basic pricing. These prices may not be accurate for US merchants anymore, as CJ Access level pricing is no longer published on the US site.
thanks tvmatt! so that's like $5,250 to start advertising in CJ. I am looking at the account manager rightnow ( tried to signed up for a publisher account) and i see 3-day EPC and 7-day EPC, what do they mean? Thanks in advance experts
Since this is a CJ thread, don't want to post it, but I'll PM you about a network many merchants and affiliates prefer that's only 350 set-up.
Are you referring to ShareASale? ShareASale is less expensive, but cost isn't everything... I believe that CJ is better for some niches and programs, but SaS, LinkShare, Performics, and others all have their own pros and cons.
Yep 5K is the startup cost tatiana. Just make sure you are ready when you do it. I wish you the best.
