I'm just curious about how successful a Blogger site can be? I know the encouragement is generally... "get paid hosting", "buy a domain", "invest something". I agree... but.. can a Blogger blog kick some butt or is it something you just stay away from? I've really never done anything with Blogspot so I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time with it or what..
Bloger stinks. Clumsy inerface. Confusing logins. Sometimes your blogs get deleted randomly (and you can't get em back either).
I use it and even have some PR on a couple of blogs. One of my blogs is very well ranked in MSN and google (but not yahoo ) The only thing I do not like about blogger is that there are some limits on the formatting of the pages, or at least for ME there are limits with my minimal coding knowledge.
Most of my earning (Adsense) comes from blogger.... But u can try WP as well With blogger you can get indexed in google easily
If you want a good blog try http://www.blogurple.com They do not put ads on your site, instant blog generation with no registration required, sleek templates.
Blogger is well optimised for google, and can rank pretty well if the content is good. Major drawback is the lack of categories for your posts.
Does the Google search engine favor Blogger or something? Hence, it gets indexed faster? I hear that but no one ever seems to say why. So I'm askying, why?
my blog is #1 on google for "mmo advertising". The only ads on there are the ones I put on there for adsense. Like any other site, it takes time to really get your blog out there and known. The one thing I don't like about blogger is that I can't put my own meta tags in. You can makes changes to your template and such but not the overall coding of your site.
blogger can be quite good blog if you wish to spend some time experimenting and playing with your template. You don't need LOT of html and javascript coding knowledge, but you should be willing to learn. Blogger lacks many things like category, tags, bookmarks, expandable texts.. but all these can be added with little efforts. Just look around and you will find the answer. To see some of these modifications in action you can check my blog - blog 4 bloggers, not the best but i like to work on making it better.
The worst thing about Blogger, in my opinion, is that you have no control over when it's working. Back when I used it it got to be pretty frustrating when I'd want to work and be unable to because Blogger was down.
