I'm going to appraise its undeveloped value but account for age. I would have to say I think age is its biggest strength anyway, and even with that not much more than $100

So you mean the domain just by itself doesn't cost anything?

Is it because the "1" ?

I'd say high $xx to low $xxx. You'd probably need to develop it if you want to get more.

It's a domain only - there is no website to go with it. Therefore no traffic, no reputation in search engines, no incoming links etc.

It is relatively short and it's a .com, so I'd value it at $50-200.

(Presence of rich keywords like "host" and "net") +( 8 years age) - (presence of "1") = High $xx.

The 1 thing is what gets me. If it wasn't for that probably more. Also depends on content, backlinks, and any other marketing. If just a parked domain for 8 years than not much at all.

Yeah, the 1 ruins it on my part. But 8 years of age brings it to a higher value which could be high $xx to mid $xxx

I'd say low $xxx. The "1" in the domain doesn't help its value. However, some buyers might enjoy the "1" in the domain name b/c your domain is boasting itself as the #1 Hosting network. So from your buyers perspective and the age of the domain name you could be expecting low $xxx. Yet, don't expect anything more, especially in this market where consumers are expecting to pay less for more.

High ranking domain names will continue to gain value in any market condition. Yet, undeveloped, abbreviated and/or substituted domains are in specialized sectors with extreme price volatility. Considering also, that your domain can be substituted for an array of other very similar domains, valuation on your domain tends to stay low (i.e.; hostnetwork.com, networkhost.com, 1network.com, nethosts.com, networkhosters.com).

Your strongest factor in your domain valuation then becomes the age of your domain name. However, being 8+ years in age barely possibly covers the yearly registration fee for this domain name. Therefore, if you have no use for this domain name it would be a good idea to sell your domain and cut your losses.

    Domain name valuation:
Registration Fee times (x) domain age = low $xxx.
(Its not the worst domain name, however it is far from the best especially considering the very specific and highly competitive market sector.)

If the domain makes sense to you, then develop it. Don't buy a domain unless you're ready to make something of it, otherwise get ready to lose money.
