I am just wondering how much people spend on website promotion. What methods do you use to promote online business in web effectively?
And you want to know how much we spend because???... In answer to your second question, advertising in other webmasters' sites, and sometimes in certain magazines and newspapers offline.
we have paid on google for promoting our website. it cost so much. but as far as i am concerned now, it has not produed any positive impact
Could you provide us with more detailed information? For example, we have spent $1000 per a mont = $200 article submission + $800 Google Ads. And tell us, please, about the results you have.
When you have a nett amount per converted transaction on your website, you should be able to calculate what conversion rate you need when you use Pay Per Click to drive targeted traffic to your website, in order to make a profit. When you see that other people drive similar traffic to their profitable sites (either own products, review sites or affiliate websites) you can use somewhat similar ads for your own campaign. Start out using a small amount so that you can determine your clickthrough rate and after that decrease your average cost per click. Repeat again and again affectively decreasing your cost per click and rising the amount you spend whenever the campaign is profitable.
On one of my Adwords campaigns I spend about $200 - $350 a day, average CPC of $0.50, 400 - 600 visitors a day and a 60% opt in rate. I'm also now doing about 1.5k per day with Youtube and CPA, working on that now.
My primary promotion technique is video blogging on sites like youtube, break, metacafe, dailymotion, yahoo video,,, only to name a few. Total cost to me is $0. I use a point and shoot digital camera that I already had before I started making videos, and I use windows movie maker to do the editing.
Nothing, I spend $0 on promotion. If you wanted to count something, then consider my drive time to where I film the videos at. But sometimes when I am around town I will stop and make a video in the parking lot of a business. Last summer my wife and I went to a local store. While my wife was in the store shopping, I went outside and made a video about gardening equipment. I used the display models in the parking lot as examples in the video. Last month my wife and I drove down to a beach in southeast texas. While we were down there I filmed some video footage and posted it on youtube. We were already at the beach, so why not take advantage of that while we were there. Month before last, when my wife and I were visiting my parents I made a couple of videos around the neighborhood. This coming weekend my wife and I are flying to California to go to a weeding. Well, I am going to film the trip and when I get back parts of it is going on youtube. So I try to take advantage of what I have on hand. Film a lot of stock video, edit it, then upload.
This question can be tough, because it really all depends on your niche, you competition, and your current rankings. I mean personally we spend around 300.00 a month on adertising because we are a web development company and have a lot of competition. There is also a lot of free marketing approaches you can take as well.
hee hee hee hee dumb comments like that have always made me giggle. As if that means something special.
I spend enough to get my ROI. There are so many ways to get traffic effectively, PPV,PPC, Banner ads, spamming on forums LOL
