How much do you reinvest?

Since we all know that the success of a web directory is directly co related to the amount of promotion, how much of your income do u actually reinvest ?

For myself, as my directory income is comparatively very low, i am investing 100% of my income building permanent links, creating some visibility and some standard promotion like free directory submissions, etc..

So what is your percentage of reinvestment and how are u actually investing it.

 

at the moment i reinvest around 95% of all money back into the directories with the other 5% going towards hosting

this will of course change as time goes depending on how well sites are doing

 

100% is reinvested to searchbuster.org, mostly visibility and quality directory submissions.

 

Directories are just the same as any standard business you have to speculate to accumulate

Don't expect to see revenue exceeding investment in the first 12 months of operation

 

At the moment i reinvest around 200% to tivoli directory.
I want to boost it to PR6 or higher

for the last 3 months, I have been reinvesting 100% of my total income.

 

I have reinvested 95% and that has paid for Mods packages, a 2CO account, additional bits n bobs here and there and more recently purchasing links.

Edit: eek, did i say purchasing links, i meant paying for reviews.

 

I reinvest 90% of BQTM revenue on advertisements, signature and avatar..

10% goes for other site promotion

 

I reinvest 100% from what I get in my directory!


But we need to do a lot to promote a directory

 

First the first few months i had reinvested whole of my earnings and infact more than what i got... but now around 80% earnings are reinvested.

 

Maybe, maybe not...I believe in smart marketing and think very hard for every dollar i spend..

So i guess i can always maintain a margin

I guess this must be the initial stage and your dir mut be comparitively new, this is the same strategy i follow for my new sites as i too believe that the first impression has a lot to do with leaving a lasting mark in the memory of every visitor.

Yes a PR 6 or higher is a different ballgame altogether in the directory industry (yes i know PR is not everything)

And hell ya, feels nice to have hardcore promoters amoung us..

I''ll be honest and say that I do not put back 100% of what I make into my directory, after all I do want to make some sort of profit. Keep in mind that some directories are in fact a business and therefore there are other cost which will come into play outside of promotion.

But to answer the thread I would say that I reinvest about 35%, sometimes 40 to 50 if it has been a good month.

 

I have no income from my directory since its free (no paypal available from I am from). I give 20% of my work income on my websites. Its just a hobby to me for now.

Personally I reinvest about 50%.

 

I'm still in the red...
But even when I break even I will invest it all for quite a while to come...

 

I am reinvesting 100% into backlinks, but about 90% back into the directory 10% on other sites.

 

right now I am reinvesting 100% into templates for others to get links and 2 custom jobs for myself and then I will start investing into more paid links

 

Right now i am down 2 arms and 1 leg...
