I'd be comfortable on 30k/year although I make around 55k/year right now online. Hoping to break 6 figures next year.
Where do you live Manitoba? I live in greater vancouver, and I struggled to survive renting on a 40K salary. The average house in vancouver is worth over a million dollars. So if you ever plan on owning, $2K a month doesn't get you squat. I'm almost certain minimum wage in Vanouver is damn near $9 an hour too, and jobs are EVERYWHERE.
I'm not sure there's anyway to really answer that question! What a person NEEDS and what they think they need are often two vastly different numbers. There are hundreds of financial advisors that can usually show a person how to shave nearly half of their "needs" off. That said, I think $2000-3000 is enough to dang sure to get by on. That may not include an unneccesary fancy vehicle payment or "America's top 1,000" satellite T.V. package, though. Jeremy
Hmm, in the UK, with the rate of minimum wage, and the 'average' full time working hours, would be about £800 a month, before tax. So at the current exchange rate that'd be around $1750. Although that's working at it full time for the basic rate of pay. Personally for me I'd do adsense full time if I could make >$2000. Although I'm not that sure about the tax issues with Adsense - it's tax free, right? I can't really base this on much, as in a month and a half my main site with adsense hasn't even made $20. God, I suck
Mortgage: $2700/mo. USD Electric: $140/mo. Gas: $280/mo. (winter) 2 kids: $???/mo. I am no where close to making a living off the internet! I have to rely on elbow grease!
btw. an EU is about $1.42 Rent EU400 MIN (400-800++) Utilities EU100 Food GAS CatFood Computer Stuff and Girlfriend Stuff...Darn...wrong order ... I think EU 2K would be pretty good for a start. Not being "rich", but it would pay rent and you wouldnt starve. The more the better of course. Dont forget: IM and marketing could also require some money...eg. for AdWords etc....
About $1500 - $2000 region to get by on and meet all payment commitments. If you were in the UK and relied on income from the internet, you would either be classed as self-employed or you would have formed a company. In both cases, you would still need to pay tax with the amount of tax depending on your income or turnover. Although expenses for business would also be taken into consideration, so keeping receipts of everything and filing a tax return would ensure you paid a lower amount of tax. If you were successful enough, then you would also be liable to pay VAT on top of income tax. In addition, you would need to pay NICS (national insurance contributions), so the key is really to keep good records on income and expenses and file appropriate account returns to properly be assessed for tax liability.
I live in Middle Tennessee. Cost of living out here is low. I can survive on $3kUSD/month. However, my personal standard of living requires about 1.5 times that much. Mike
I pulled it out of ass Btw, the rent and Food and utility bills would take all that money. No way your getting a $40K BMW in 4 years. Those people are nuts living there paying 12K a year for rent, you get could a mortgage for less then that. and actually own a house.
