30 hours continuously!? Gawwd that's crazy! I would die!!!

3 cheques in one day sounds nice... mmmmm money... I personally never see the money I make in cheque form as I get it electronically transferred to my account.

Which reminds me.... I'm meant to be receiving my $150 payment soon! It's taken me quite a while to earn so it'll be nice to get it! :D

The longest I have done is about 40 hours continueous. I would recommend not doing it has it is not good for you at all. I only done it when I first got involved in this sort of work about 3 - 4 years ago. I don't a few 30 hours and many 20 and 15 hours continouse.

My hours has now dropped to about 60 hours per week.

Once I have things more automated then I will be cutting it down even further and once I increase my staff then I will become part time, which hopefully will be in a year or two.

I get paid via electronic, checks, and other methods also.

I don't mind how I get paid as longs as I get paid.

But if an affiliate program does have an option of many payout ways, then I would go with the cheapest way of receiving my money. I don't worry about the speed, the cheapest is the main thing.

This is why I prefer to get checks and sometimes earnings through electronic transfers, this is because this is the cheapest way. Online money transfer systems normally take about 3% or so of your money. I already pay taxes and things on my earnings so the 3% bit is something that I can do without unless I have no choice.

You work some crazy hours there. May I ask how much you average per month?

I average over $5,000. I don't want to give my actual figures and these earnings are not just from Adsense.

I am doing so much work so that I can get things moving, get my sites advertised and things. Things next year should be alot more better as I will be cutting back my hours to enjoy a little more social life while the money keeps coming in from sites that are going to be about 70% automated or if not much more automated.

But even though they will be that much automated I will still need to work about 10 - 15hours a week and I may also still need some workers working for me as I don't want to say small. If you want to grow big and quick then you have to put the work in and get others helping you. If you don't then you don't have as much of a chance with all your competition.

That's a pretty good amount of money :) I have a crazy goal to make enough money to quit my full time by this time next year. Hopefully I'll make enough to hire someone so I won't have to work as hard. I work an 8 hour job, and spend the rest of my night reading and learning on this board, and also working on starting a couple more sites.
Hope you'll finally be able to work part time soon.

By the way, what are you making more money in? Adsense or Affiliate programs?

Once you have quit your job I hope that you have much success.

I remember when I quit my job about 3 years ago. At first I really was happy about it, then suddenly a few months later I got a little sort of cash as I were not earning hardly any money when I quit my job, but I knew that money could be made which was the reason why I quit it. I thought to myself that they only way I can make money on the web is if I put the hours in. So I quit my job and went full time on doing online work.

A year goes buy and I am making a little cash. 2 years go buy and checks are coming in, about 10 a month plus wire transfers and online transfer system payments.

Still was only earning around $300 - $500 a month though.

By about the middle of last year and onwards my work started to pay of as my earnings were starting to see a nice increase and I also started to spread my eggs around abit. I were starting to not be dependant on just one source of income or one site or even one source of traffic.

If a site went wrong then I had another one to fill its place. etc.

Now the increase in my earnings had slowed down a little over later january and early february, but they are on a nice increase again and I have done alot of new things so I am expecting my earnings to explode most of this year.

I am hoping that I will be earning over $10,000 a month and if things go very smothly then even over $30,000 a month.

I will also start looking at getting more people to help me out so that I can expand quicker and further.

I'm finding this thread really useful too. As you said dynn it's about keeping at it and learning from mistakes/other peoples successes. I plan to spend a lot of time over the summer learning more about various aspects of websites and designing a new brand spanking website! :D

    Yeah,

Keep at it and learn from your mistakes. You are likely to make mistakes. I have done many things that I wish I didn't even look into. If I had not done all these things then I would have most probably be hiting $10,000 a month or more now. But with the mistakes I was in areas where it was best to steer clear of.

This is mainly because I was doing things that didn't really help my business, It didn't damage it in anyway, but it also didn't really do anything.

One mistake was starting out in PTR programs. I only stayed with them for about 1 or 2 months thinking that this was the only way to earn money. That is how I first found out about proper affiliate programs.

I know it was only 1 or 2 months doing it but even that many months could have meant that if I didn't do them then I could have been 1 or 2 months ahead of what I am doing now.

When I started creating my sites, I started learning html and just built my first site using html and that was it. I didn't have now search functions or nothing. I didn't know any php, mysql, etc. I was joining and adding programs to my site and just as quick as what I was adding them, they were becoming broking links and things.

Once learn't php I had to then redo all my site, which also wasted more of my time.

But you learn from all of this and if I didn't learn, then I would not be where I am today.

Just keep at it and have a good approach and you should do well.

    All the best!

I make about 100-150$ per month from affiliate programs, but that is from just a few textlinks at one of my sites so I guess it's not that bad.

I make a good amount from Adsense, but I also make a good amount from Affiliate Programs.

So far I am making more from affiliate programs and I had received 2 checks yesturday and a check about 4 days ago.

It get checks on a regular basis.

It takes alot of work to start receiving regular checks though.

I've been at it for a couple of months and so far my site has pulled in around £100, which just about covers the hosting, domain registration etc. I'm still out of pocket though as I have been using adwords to drive traffic to the site so I really need to explore alternative (ie free!) methods od gaining traffic.
Thats where this forum is ideal.
When I compare what my site has made with what I make in my day job though, it doesn't seem worth it, I think at the moment its just the excitement of making a few pounds off your own efforts which could potentially grow into something worthwhile.
BTW, I'm not allowed to post my url yet as I have yet to make 10 posts!
You lot that are clearing $1000 a month are the inspiration to make me keep on hacking away.

Over the last few months my affiliate sales have increased quite a lot, although I'm not saying that it provides that much income (in fact very little).

This month has been a baaaad month though! With one of the affiliate programs, I've sent 440 visitors and have only made 1 sale. That's 440 clicks / sale compared to last months 39 clicks / sale!

Basically what I'm trying to say is affiliate programs performance fluctuate so much. The more experienced of you will know this but I just thought it might be useful to mention that to the newer webmasters on here (including me:D).

    I mean't GPT

They are programs where you get paid to read emails, get paid to surf, etc.

At the time I found out about them was the first time I had properly started using the internet and they were all new to me and I didn't know nothing about affiliate marketing, so I thought that you could earn money from them.

I took part in them for about 1 or 2 months and quickly gave up as I prefered to do some proper work and learn html, php, mysql, etc. and then build my own site and make money from it.

If I had made the right choice then I can definately say yes!

GPT programs are a waste of time and half of them are scams. I do really feel sorry for the people who are taking part in them and are not getting paid due to the scams. But then again, I feel even a bigger shame for the advertisers as they are just getting cheated out of their advertising money.

That is the main reasons why I don't advertise on any of the 3rd tier ppc search engines because alot of these GPT read sites pay like $0.001 - $0.02 per click on a ppc listing that is sent to them by email.

No when you advertise you want proper visitors and not people who just click on an ad to earn some extra cash.
