I think you should experiment with your site before you think about doing anything else. For example try experimenting with your ad layout. There are meant to be areas on the page where adverts get a better click through rate. Try looking at this Google page related to this topic:

Concerning Adsense
You could also try rotating colour schemes, and also place more adverts on each page. Obviously don't over do it otherwise it looks bad but don't forget you're allowed 3 ad units, 1 link unit + search bars on each page.

Another thing I think you could consider is completely changing the website design. I don't really think a black + red colour scheme is clean looking. Don't forget first impressions are really important and therefore a clean and attractive website design is important.

One more thing - you should try and build more links with related sites (obviously ones with high PR is better). I checked your sites link popularity at www.marketleap.com and found that you only have 14 links in. If you increase the traffic to your site you should earn more from your adverts.

That's basically the same as me! Last month I made $50 and I averaged just below that in previous months... Sales fluctuate a lot though! I've sent more uniques this month to the affiliate site but haven't made a single sale!

 

Maybe this doesn't completely relate to this thread but so far this month I've received the following from my sites (2 Domains + Subdomains):

Advertisements - $26.45 (Next to Nothing... )
Content Sales - $150 (+$65 In a Few Days Time)
Pixel Sales - $270 !!
Affiliate Programs - $0!!!!

I can't believe the last two on this list! Well I suppose affiliate programs are unpredictable but pixel sales?? I started that pixel site in November or something because I got optimistic about the whole idea (how stupid of me I know). The thing is I gave up on it long ago and yet today I was just surfing the net and I get a message from PayPal saying I got a payment of $260! I can't believe it...

Also the bulk of this total, in fact $420, I made in the last 7 days. I know it won't last but it's definately been nice... especially because I'm a broke student!

 

I just started out. I've only been doing this for a bit over a month. I made $60 during that time I think that's a great start. The key is picking the right affiliate programs. I like affiliate schemes which have pre-made websites you can download to host on your hosting account. That allows me to have my affiliate website up in no time, and spend my valuable time on marketing, seo, etc.

 

Anybody else have any luck with pixel sales?
Now, I'm curious.

 

You know I was wondering the same thing. Scheme makes it sound like something that is not legit.

Things are getting better and better everyday.

Im currently making more money in one day with CJ then I was making every month about 6 months ago. I found my winning formula and now im sticking with it.

Now the first thing I do in the morning is go right to CJ and see what the days take was.

I wouldn't bother considering entering the pixel-advertising industry (if you could call it that ) The sale I made was lucky and although a make a small amount it's not really worth it... Also well done on $60 in one month!!! That's way better than what I started off with - in fact it's better than how I'm doing now!

You have a point - calling it affiliate schemes does make it sound a bit dodgy...

Sales have been picking up lately.

Keep trying Diamond008! I didn't get any sale for the first couple of months but after constant optimisation they are starting to pick up a little more.

That said this month isn't going very well at all...205 clicks / sale average compared to my 39 clicks / sale. That said I have managed to increase the amount of traffic I send them by 50% this month!!

But I suppose no sales = no good...

 

I make anywhere between $4,000 to $8,000 a month on affiliate programs alone, depending on how much advertising I do. As far as visitors, I don't know. I don't keep track, but then again, I don't do most of the things the gurus tell you you have to do to be successful, like SEO, opt-in lists, adsense, etc. Maybe if I did, I could make even more, but I'm happy with this amount. In case you are wondering, I only advertise via PPC and ezine ads.

I make a nice little amount of money. I had a check for $20 2 days ago. I then worked most of yesturday and all through the night. I then went to bed about 2 hours ago only to find that I could get to sleep as I had thoughts in my head continuosly about some good ideas for my business.

So here I am on the Web again doing my work and also writing in these great forums form time to time.

Well anyway, I had something to eat and my post had then come. I was about to go to bed after my food but after receiving two letters which looked like checks I thought that I would stay up for a little longer.

So, not bad 2 checks in a day. I like it when that happens. I have had 2 checks the same day now for about 5 times and I even had 3 checks one day.

I'm glad that I get them though as I depend on my business as it is the only way that I earn. Also, it has taken me about 4 years to build up my nice business.

I do it full time and have been working full time on it for 4 years now. Some days I have put in well over 30 hours continously just so that I can get things up quicker.
