How much do members of DP spend on links per year/month?

Just wondering it seems alot of members do this, i was wondering if it would be better using PPC instead, your views and comments wanted. Just seems which ever way you go you got to spend loads to get hits on websites of ours

So far I haven't bought any links, I just do link exchanges and rely on natural incoming links. I'm thinking of changing my 'policy' to jumpstart one of my new blogs though - I just don't have the time I used to :(

So far, I've spent zilch/$0 on marketing. With a blog I just don't think at first that expenditure is justifiable. Free publicity is so easy to get, it just takes good writing skills and an email to a top-class blogger alerting them of your material.

If in fact you have written something worthwhile, they'll lap it up and will give you a link on a no doubt highly trafficked page.

This happened to me, when I was linked to by the official TLA blog for a post I did about them! Worked a treat with traffic and RSS subscribers!

Links vs. PPC - two different animals. PPC is immediate and Links are much longer-term - of course both require money and/or time.

Haven't spent anything yet, it's all been word of mouth and getting backlinks from relevant sites. Of course I make next to nothing, so you might not want to follow my strategy. :)
