How much do forums sell for?

I have a content site with a forum that makes $150+ a month from Adsense.
There are 2000 members, and over 36,000 posts, with 100-300 new posts a day. Runs on vBulletin (owned), with vbSeo and the site/forum receives 1600-3000 unique visitors each day (mainly from Google). The forum is PR5, with many PR2/3 sub pages.

How much would that sell for? The site/forum is about a popular video game (already released).

Oh, and the site/forum is completely custom designed with a bunch of unique content.

Expect between 10 & 15 times revenue ... anything higher is a bonus, probably due to content, topic, PR, potential or other factors.

for forums that has a great deal of traffic and revenue dependant on the owner or moderator of the forum, most poeple that understands this will not pay more than 6 months revenue. I've seen a gazillion such sales that do not even make the 6 months multiple back.

6 months revenue is too low. I think between 10 - 15 times revenue is more realistic.

Have you guys heard about the wickedfire.com offer? The site is 6 month old with 3,500 members and 100,000 posts. There are no ads on the site and the owner recieved an offer for $16 million but turned it down. I wonder how the buyer justifies the $16 million offer for such a new site.

I also don't believe the 16 Mil offer .. I believe its just a hype ploy, and it looks like it working.

I see you added some details at the top .. I would say expect $1500 or more.

Yea, especially seeing as it came from Jon.
I don't doubt he makes a crap load of money, but I do doubt that he turned down $16,000,000. Very few people would turn down that for 8 months of work.

guess 1k+ or 1.5k is a good price to start at.
else you may try to double to traffic and income, and increase PR. by the time i estimate you could start at 2k+

what makes your move to sell the profiting site??
may i have the domain, bit curious.
