I posted this in affiliate section with no replies First off let me get this clear, are the 125x125 ad boxes on the right of most blogs affiliate ads or something else? I really need a way to gauge an estimate of how much those ads are paying on any given site that I look at. Eg, If I went to www.johncow.com then checked it's traffic with compete.com, then could i estimate some income per 125x125 box ad? I want to use this information to generate a target reader number per different tiers of expected monthly or yearly income. Eg. How many readers for 5k a year, how many for ten, how many for 15k, 20k, etc. And how many affiliate ads, adsense and other I would need. So to start, how much to these ads generally pay? is it a weekly or monthly contract? Is it ppc? what pay rates vs traffic? etc. tldr: How much to those square ads in the the sidebar of a blog pay per month?
How much traffic is that blog getting? How much "targeted" traffic is that blog getting? They could be affiliation banners or advertiser banners.... I know of someone that is charging $150 per month, per slot, to have a banner of that size placed on his site. And on his site, he is allowing a total of 12 banners... That site is also #1 for a very popular keyword phrase.
Just starting out, <1000 hits per month. How much can I charge max for something like this? if at all?
