    yes. its the best technique to increase page rank in off page. if you get keywords ranking by doing directory submission then your keywords will fixed on good ranking for some time probably for longer time if you compare with keywords that comes from other seo techniques. if you want to increase the traffic then social bookmarking is the best way .

    Directory submission is useful because it's creating back link for your site. Please remember that if you want to increase site traffic then web directory submission is not the best option. To increase traffic you have to post in blogs and forums. Hope this will help.
