I think any automated methods that you use to body links will not apparently be as able as you have accepted it to be because it can be apparent as spamming. I think the best way you can see big result is by doing it manually.

 

You should choose the quality directory to submit but the most important thing is your article's content.

 

Dir submissions are a waste of time honestly, unless you do it on 10-20 good directories only and even then they will give out a very small amount of juice to your site..

 

Directory is very helpful to increase your traffic and back linking!!!

 

Backlinks are important. You can consider about it.
