One of my sites is on page two for 4 important keywords related to my product, and im averaging about 400 clicks a day from that. Im trying to do SEO marketing like articles, blogging, to try and build the site up to the 1st page, but it's difficult. How much of a difference in traffic is being on the 1st page as to the 2nd page on Googles?
The "majority" of search terms and phrases see the most traffic from 1st page. Usually the top 3 sites will recieve the most traffic. In theory you want to be on the 1st page of results, 2nd page will recieve organic traffic but not as much as the overall 1st page.
So the top 3 sites on top of the 1st page get majority of the traffic? Im trying, but it's very hard. I have been stuck on Page 2 for the longest. I have submitted articles to Ezinearticles, Squidoo, Blogging and it has paid off,but i can't seem to make it to page 1.
For one of my sites and my main keyword i keep flicking between page 1 and 2, i get onto page one in position 10 for a day or two then back to poistion 11, 12 or 13, i can push it up eventually, and imagine the traffic will rise accordingly.
Again, the top 3 will recieve the most traffic, depending on the search term. Certian terms people may visit ALL the results on one or two pages. Your goal should be to get on the 1st page of results at minimum.
This page gives a great breakdown, using data from a wide variety of queries. To sum up: 1 - 42.30% 2 - 11.92% 3 - 8.44% 4 - 6.03% 5 - 4.86% 6 - 3.99% 7 - 3.37% 8 - 2.98% 9 - 2.83% 10 - 2.97% 11 - 0.66% 12 - 0.56% 13 - 0.52% 14 - 0.48% 15 - 0.47% 16 - 0.39% 17 - 0.36% 18 - 0.34% 19 - 0.32% 20 - 0.30% Hope that helps.
when I'm researching something for the job or college, I open all links from page one... if I don't find what I'm looking for I go next page or rewrite keyword. I guess majority does the same... so first page will earn u allot of traffic. no matter what position... but if ur content is better then of that on the first page, and ur stuck on the second - u still gonna receive first page traffic.
Based on my experience, the difference is enormous. The first page usually always provides a much higher number of visitors than a listing on the second page of SERPs.
