The other day I made a list of expenses it took to setup my directory and run it for 6 months. I must admit I was quite shocked at the result. I started off as a complete newbie to webmastering, website promotion and directory managing. Here is my list: 1. Domain registration: $6 2. Hosting for 6 months: $42 3. Directory script: $75 4. Promotions and advertising cost: $250 (including directory submissions, banner advertising and adwords) 5. Ebooks: $180 6. Unique logo and banners: $85 7. Internet connection for the time I've spent learning, promoting and managing my directory: $213 Total= $851 and that doesn't include my time. Really scary, isn't it? If I know then what I know now I would have saved about $500 and still had the same result.
