Hey, when you are selling forums online. Can you sell the via the amount of posts, threads, and members? I mean say if you want the money for the domain, lisences, and custom skin.

Then can you add an certain amount per post on an forum? Also for members and threads? I have no clue how much an forum would sell for, could you guys give me an example of how much I could get for this.

    phpBB forum,
    Webmaster subject,
    300,300 posts,
    1000 memebers,
    Custom skin,
    .com, .net, and .org domain,

Please help me on this guys.

    Thanks,
    BlueEew.

Most important factors for selling a forum are traffic and revenue.
1000 members are useless if you only get a couple visitors/day.

Dose post count higher the price, also if there was 1000 members registered, and all members have all logged in and posted at least one would that forum be worth much?

Have a look in the Sites for Sale part of Digital point here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=52

Even though such things as unique visitors and PR score are ranked high in importance, at the end of the day, it comes down to money, so in turn you would be asked the simple question: What are the monthly earnings? It's one of the few consistent ways that a site of any kind can be valued.

When it comes to forums specifically, don't get too hung up on any single stat - registered users, uniques per day, posts, posts per day, page views, forum age, posts per user, and so on... There can be variations at many extremes, which is why it's difficult to value based on a single one.

yes, traffic is key. Everything else is secondary and can be easily improved. So i guess, your price wld largely depend on the amount of traffic....

Thanks for that guys that really helps, well I am hoping to create a forum with 300,000 plus posts, and 1000 members, and 1000 active members. I am also targeting to get the revenie at $60/day.

Would that help for a rough geuestimate for a price?

Could sell for between $10,000 and $40,000 depending on the buyer. $60 a day is pretty high for 1kposts per day. I'm at about a third of that, but income is only at around $1 a day so far.

Thats website is to estimate the value of the domain, I am not intrest in just domains. Also the domain predicters are never correct anyway. Actually what I mean is, people never pay the predictions. I was told not to listen to them, however this one dose have some good features. Thanks for posting this.

Traffic and Revenue are most important.

I can ask users to register on my forum for 5 cents but they will hardly visit again.

    Revenue comes after traffic.

    More uniques = more value

Also, the topic of forum has great importance. If you got webmaster forum and 200 uniques a day, excellent.

If you got warez forum, 200 uniques a day = WORST(I dont own it, but according to the sales in Sites section:))

i would suggest any sites price not on the basis of posts and members but any webmasters need is traffic so price must be set first on traffic then amount of any purchased script and then all else comes
