You can start with nothing, it just depends on what you're expecting...You can create a free blog on blogspot and promote affiliate offers there

Or...You can start by literally spending $1,000 the first day and thousands thereafter. It just depends on how much money you have, how much you're willing to spend, and how much you're willing to lose. There is some risk in affiliate marketing when you do PPC (which is what a lot of people do), but you minimize the risk by researching and limiting your spending.

You really don't need anything unless you are going to promote through PPC. Otherwise programs are free to join. Submit articles, write blogs and much more. Build traffic and send to your product sites...

$0 i think its better to start free if your new and dont have much money to spend. just pick a high paying product, setup some free blogs on good hosts like blogger or wordpress, and make posts in individual keywords you find in your niche with the free google keyword tool. that strategy alone will make you thousands of dollars with no up front $ spent. good luck :)

Well I've definitely been thinking more and more and more and even more! about getting into this. I've dabbled in the past, but never thrown 12 hours a day and a serious amount of cash (for me) into this. We'll see what happens when GTAce replies. Just signed up to wealthy affiliate as well. :)

I started with Commission Junction 3 months ago on a whim. No online or tech experience. No affiliate marketing or SEO knowledge. Made $1,000 over 3 months - $44, then $250, then $350. Organic traffic is free! Just write about your passion, find your voice, and get inside the heads of your traffic! Sometimes people try PPC canmpaigns at first that get very expensive - i avoid them altogether. Best of luck to you.
