Lets say if i had an image hosting site with a great design, cool features, and it had 10,000 members and over 30,000 images uploaded. how much could i sell it for?
Generally speaking, most websites sell for 8-10x their monthly revenue. So if you site was making $500, you could expect about $4000-$5000 for it. But that's very general, your traffic, rankings, and various other factors will affect the price.
I recently wrote an article about web site valuation methods. You can find it here: kameir.com/web-site-valuation (sorry can't do live links just yet :-(
You can simply try a 10$ auction on SitePoint.com Marketplace. Chances are that you will get many buyers there.
ya depends on many things. .but most buyers not adays will only pay big bucks if the sites is show revenue .. not its potential revenue.. however I am different and look at potentionall.. but obviously would pay more if the site was making good $
I go for 12x the monthly revenue, more if revenue has been on a steady climb...of course the longer the site has been reg'ed, the more you can get out of it as well...
revenues, age of the domain, strengths of the website etc. moreover also depends on buyers, if you sell to big corporations you might fetch more. good luck with the sale.
