I have accidentally found and re-acquired a MySpace URL with a PageRank 7. The URL previously belongs to an Indie singer in United Kingdom. I've checked the PageRank at several sites and several Google DCs and the URL is cached and is a PageRank 7 How much do you think I can get if I decided to sell the MySpace Account? $50? $70? $100? If you would like to see the URL, please PM me.
Have you used the fake pagerank tool on seologs yet? I see people using 301 redirect to sites like w3.org to make their pagerank get as high as 8. If its a legitimate PR 7 you should get well over $100. But check the seologs tool first.
I think you can not do a 301 redirect from a myspace site since you are not allowed to use php or htaccess
Legal or not, there are A LOT of people doing it and MySpace couldnt possibly stop all of them Anyways, I decided to keep the MySpace Profile to myself
u cant change the url on myspace pages.. that makes it worthless.. myspace isnt about page rank its about friends and a lot of them if u add a lot of friends and if they let u change url then u can easily get rich
Well, yeah MySpace is a place for friends but it can also be a very profitable place for intelligent webmasters
For example, if you acquire a MySpace URL with a high pagerank and you place an article related to your site(s) niche and link certain keywords to your site in the MySpace Profile page, and if you do this with 20-40 MySpace Profiles, your site will increase in SERPS and PR
I didn't think myspace profiles really mattered in SEO, really i had no idea and just passed it off as a whatever link. Interesting. I know a few people with some big accounts that they hardly ever use. Maybe I can get some big time linkage. Thanks for the info.
@evossman: Not all MySpace Profiles are valuable in terms of SEO. Only the ones with a high PageRank. @hereyago: If you dont use your MySpace Profile to SPAM other profiles, you'll be safe
You guys gotta be kidding. MySpace is huge and plenty of people have gotten famous from their myspace pages. It's no secret. lol If you didn't realize that thousands of people are using it for marketing, where have you been for the past couple years? That is oooooold news.
Yes, most of us here already knows that MySpace can be a great marketing tool Sadly most of them SPAM profiles with irrelevant messages and comments
You're absolutely right about that. It's a shame how bad the spammers are ruining MySpace for everyone.
Haven't seen many myspace pages, but all the ones I did go to were PR7 so I just assumed that was the default for any MS page. Interesting to see that it's not.
Anyone out there have much experience with adding a link on a myspace profile to increase pagefrank of the external site?
