I own that forum and also a news blog and a few other sites.... www.sandra-bullock.co.uk, www.sandrabullock.de, www.sandrabullock.info and www.sandrabullockcentral.com are my main sites. The forum is my best base for visitors since it has 2200+ members.
I just experienced that you can make $10 with just 500 impressions, but it's not a daily average. I'm just wondering: my traffic increasing (Thanks to the Co-op!) and I can see potential earnings form increasing the traffic and working on the quality of the content. But here is the question: should I work my bottom off just on this one site trying to rank in every main direction my site involved or create multiple similar sites and just work evenly on all of them? On one hand - concentrating on one site brings more quality, but on another - big risk losing all the benefits at once... I guess I would rather minimize the risk, and invest my time into different sites. What to you all think? What's your experience?
This is one of my parked domains. www.fordvanparts.com You get peanuts for this traffic, not $50.00 a day. You would be better off hosting your own landing page with affiliate links instead of using a parked page service, even Google does this now for domain owners.
$10 per 500 impressions??? Are you sure that's correct? That's a CPM of $20!! Or, do you mean $10 per 500 visitors?? At an average of 10 page views per visitor, this would mean a CPM of $2 which would make more sense (to me, anyway)
btw, this is very interesting fact - CJ shows 8.5K impressions from the beginning of the month when at the same time Adsense shows only 3.6K for the same timeframe. I have Adsense on the same pages with the CJ ads and even more... Can anyone comment on this one?
dfsweb as far as building more than one site. I started out with the one site for everything and worked hard for about 2 years. I hit a ceiling of about 400-500 uniques a day and couldn't seem to get past it. I worked and worked but any gains I made were incremental. But if I could build one site that got 400 a day I could build another. Not I run 30+ sites. IMO, it's easier to build a site and get 100 visitors a day than it is to build a site that gets 1000. So if you can build a site and get 100 uniques a day, go out and build as many of them as you can. This can be tough if you are paying for hosting. About a year ago I started hosting from my own server. Now I pay 8.95 for a domain name at GoDaddy, build the site, set the DNS pointer in Nettica ($50 a year for 100 pointers) and 24 hours later I've got a live site. Out of my 30+ sites, 1 gets 500+ a day, 2 get 300+ a day, 2 get 150+ a day, 5 get 100+ a day, and the rest get between 30-100. All of my slights show the trend of increasing traffic, some faster than others. It all ads up at the end of the month though when the affiliate checks roll in.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us iShopHQ! Really interesting and makes a lot of sense. I've been working with a number of sites and I know how to get ranking and I'm pretty sure I can get at least from 500 uniques and up.. the only thing all my work in the same industry. I guess I better stick with it Will start working on my own projects.
