My questions is 1. How much money can I make with a site that have 500 unique visitor per day?? 2. I know they depend on site but.... In general, How much bandwidth do I need for 500 unique visitor per day?? Thanks in advance...
that is a very broad question... 500 Uniques will not use much bandwidth, if you arent streaming any files... as far as profit- there is no way at all to tell. I have sites that get 10,000 uniques that only generate a hundred bucks a day and sites that get 300 uniques selling several thousand.. it totally depends on your product.
You must be rich!! a hundred + several thousand a day.... great....I hope I can at leat make 50 bucks a day....That's my goal right now Since i'm still in school and need money for tution... Thanks for your help
If you show us the URL we can estimate the bandwidth pretty accurate. I have a website with 500 a day that takes 5 Gigabyte. It has a forum, but I tried to keep bandwidth low so not to many images. The income depends on what you think about. Are you thinking about Google Adsense? In that case can you tell us the kind of visitors you have? If you aim for 'free stuff' you get 5 cent per click. If you aim for 'IT companies' you can get 50 cent per click. Usually about 1% clicks if your website is relevant to the advertisements.
Thanks for your advice.... My site is scripts directory.... So, I think I aim for IT companies...so if i get 500 and 1% click on it, then $2.50 a day??? um...That's... too small....I will get another part-time job.... or Do you guys have any other source of income???
I'm trying too,,,,I Think there must be some problem with my hosting company right now..... I will have to contact them..... Thanks for your care...
With my 500 uniques a day, I make about 2$ a day. Hardly worth it right now, but, I hardly advertise either.
I'm making a little more than that (not much) with less uniques and adwords on my site. Haven't tried any affiliate programs just yet.
500 uniques a day can yield good money if the conversion rate is right and you're on a decent affiliate program. For example, take a meds/pharma site. Each referred sale earns (should) a minimum $30US. If you leverage the knowledge of those who've done the research and know how to sell on-line, your 500 visitors would earn you good money (in other words, get them to the affiliate site as quickly as possible, no pretty pictures no dressing, no mucking around, just get them there - you're the WM, you define the exit points). I should think that if it's done correctly, you could earn upwards of $60 to $150 US a day, assuming you're keyphrases are properly targetted. It comes down to what your site is about, the affiliate options available, and what your *audience* expects to see (and of course how well you rank for relative terms in the SE's) As an IT site, there are a number of options out there. I don't know how lucrative they would be but i'd think you wouldn't have to look too far. I've painted a comfy picture for you here. There's a number of variables beyond your control, which can also put an end to your endeavors rather quickly, like changes in the Google algo etc. At the end of the day, the money you make can range from just pennies to literally thousands. Planning and patience go a long way I hope that helps. Cheers, JL
I am in about the same boat, albeit maybe half the uniques at the moment and maybe $1.75 a day. Looking at other threads here, it seems the answer is to target high paying keywords. Seems like it cannot be hard at all. jema
I think Shawn has mentioned to keep your day job until you have 50,000 unique visitors a day, so you and all the rest of us need to work on building traffic and that takes a lot more than high SERP's to accomplish. You need to advertise on high traffic sites also and conduct public relations including press releases on a regular basis.
How much money can you make? Limitless... Heck, 500 a day on some of my parked names nets $50 a day average. Of course, 2,000 a day on some content pages earns less than 1/10th that. The bandwidth? Very little if you aren't serving huge vids are or files. Most hosting plans come with at least 25gigs of transfer a month, you'd be hard pressed to use that.
I make about 1 buck a day with 900 unique visitors. I use Clicksor because my site is not accepted to adsense. So I'm still looking for good adsense alternatives, which do not exist yet
