Do you mean bandwidth or data transfer? If it's data transfer, then it would be a couple kilobytes for the website and about 7mb for the 7mb item. If you're talking about bandwidth, like amount of data transferred per unit of time... it depends on the speed of the visitor's Internet connection and your server. You can estimate it at approximately a couple hundred kilobits per second for the download duration for broadband users.

If we say i have a monthly bandwith with some hosting of some kind with 5gb monthly bandwith and i then send 1000 visitors to the site and 2% buy can you then give me a hint about how much bandwith is needed

say 500K for the site times 1000 would equal 500MB (.5GB). Say 2% buy, I presume they are the ones downloading the 20MB file, then that is 20 people pay. That would be 140MB. So roughly 640MB or roughly 2/3 of 1GB. So you could do about 7800 visitors on a 5GB package.

Note: This post is based on a bunch of theory. Your case may be way different, but hypothetically, due to the lack of sufficient information, this could be roughly accurate. However I can't be held responsible for you going over your bandwidth. If you can tell us the size of each page up thru the purchase proccess we can give you an more precise answer.

Well its not possible to calculate this to correct answer. But to my estimation it would be around 20mb per user. Again to download of 7Mb if user needs to pass through 15to 20 pages then bandwidth usage will go up.

If the site exists then it is easy to calculate....

    1) Work out your average page file size inc images/ videos etc
    2) Work out the average number of pages a vistor looks at
    3) Do 1 x 2 and that gives you the average bandwidth for a single visitor
    4) Add to 3 2% of 7mb for the sales

This then gives you your average useage per user. If it is a new site then you are going to have to estimate the value for 2
