The key is getting lots of traffic. For both affiliates and adsense. But affiliates is harder to convert because you need very targetted traffic. AdSense, you just need someone to click and you get paid. If you're only getting a couple hundred uniques a day and earning low in AdSense, then you need to improve your traffic. There's no mystery or magic to it. Traffic = $$
Are these affiliates programs good and reliable? So far, I have made money only from Google Adsense and I had registered once in Keycode.com but after making around 97$ in through that site, they simply closed my account, when I asked for payment. You can read more here at Cheated by Keycode in my blog. So I would like to know if there are really affiliate sites who pay well and who are reliable.
I personally use Commission Junction, Amazon, and Azoogle, all reliable (though CJ mostly depends on the particular program you're signed up with, but still generally reliable). There's also Copeac and several others. Amazon is good because you send people there through your aff link and they wind up buying crap that has nothing to do with your subject (coz amazon sells everything!!!!).
Thanks MrX for that quick information. But out of all those affiliate programs, which one has been the best for you so far.
I cant understand how you guys are making such large amounts with adsense? You must be on your PC 24 hours a day? I spend a lot of time on my computer trying to promote sites and blogs and so forth and rarely see maybe but 2 or 3 clicks a week. So I guess I am making 3 dollars a month. Any ideas or help would be great.
Commission Junction. Simply because they have an advertiser for every kind of product you can think of, so you can target well regardless of your niche. But it all depends how you work out. Some guys with Azoogle make more in 1 day than most affiliates make in a whole month. Sign up for CJ, Azoogle, AuctionAds, and Amazon and test test test
I have an account with CJ and havent seen much. I have had thousands of legitimate clicks with very few commission results. I think their tracking is bad. Especially with Ebay!
You browse through the offers, find one you wanna promote, and you can either get just your tracking URL (so you can link anyway you like), a gif/jpg banner, or a flash ad. Stick it where you want, and when someone clicks and buy/fills out a lead/whatever, you get paid. AZ has a nice toolbar to keep track of clicks/leads/$$. It's not like CJ, though, where you have to sign up and be approved by each advertiser.
Thats a lot. Congrats! How aggressive are you wth Kontera because it seems to be way below adsense. I can fully understand Amazon not performing well because it does for very few, if at all.
i only show kontera to guest users, im sure regular users find it to annoying, as for amazon im suprized it makes money
Thanks, Great explanation and thanks so much for the input. I think the main problem is to get lot of traffic. what is the best to get traffic and lots of visitor ? regards
i am making 40-50$ monthly from my 2 sites. NOTE: Can you refer me a contextual advertising program like adsense for my banned website?
The funny thing about Adsense is that many of the ads are for affiliate offers, so adsense is just kind of a middle man.. And I think that since their click-to-$ is so secret, I have a feeling that in the end of the publisher doesnt make as much as they should be... Supplement your income with adsense, but I wouldnt rely on it. Affiliate offers would probably be much better to focus on in the end.
the success key in adsense is TRAFFIC. Bringing a lot of traffic means getting more money. But not normal traffic, focus on quality traffic. try to make a simple blog on blogspot then focusing in 1 technique of marketing.
Traffic is the key issue above all. Focus will help you do better I agree with Aston since Focus would make yourself unique!
