if the CTR is good and if the visitors are coming from US/Canada/UK, you should be earning around $20 per day

My site has 500 uniques and 1200-1300 pageviews/day. Excelent bounce rate (less than 30%). Anyway, adsense does not offer me more than 1$ per day - and that is a good day :D.
    The affiliates works much better.
It's true that I only use adsense on the front page and in the footer of every article because I don't want that my site looks unfriendly.

Is this a new site or an old site? I think that might define how successful you are. If its new then there is still plenty of room for work. If its old then you either have some serious design or content flaws or a bad niche.

I wonder how much time people are spending in your site.

it depends on the keywords you are targetting. for example, high paying keywords related to say money, banks, health, should give you higher ECPM and high pay per click, thus a 600 pageviews could give you about $2 to $7 ..But if the keywords are not that high paying, you should get only $1 or $2 or even less. experiment on the keywords you are using.. Good luck
