I have several things going on and I need to know what the best way to approach hosting is. Here's what I have going... 1) I have two clients who I am developing websites for. So you know, I'm a writer first, but I can build nice Wordpress sites as either static sites or as blogs. This is a small sideline of mine. But, my clients will need hosting. Should I help them get their own or put them on my account (whichever host is choose)? 2) I Have one blog up and running - low trafic now because I've ignored it for a while - and another blog in the works. 3) I have about ten domains I want to turn into affiliate marketing site with articles, links, some video and photos. So, what kind of hosting plan should I be thinking about? Shared hosting with unlimited doamins? Should I sign up as a reseller? What level of bandwith, storage etc. do I need? Budget for hosting comes out of my own pocket so the lower the better. Thanks
If I'd be you, I would try to make a deal with a hosting company. InfinitumHost (my company) has 2 clients doing this. They bought a cheap reseller package and either: Give their clients the option to buy hosting with them (on the reseller package), while they also run their websites on that package. So they pay for the hosting, but getting back money by hosting their clients on their package. Refer them to InfinitumHost. For that they get 50% of the bought package + an extra 10$ if the client hosts for 3 months or more. I'd try something like that
I would say that a small reseller package would work for you. BUT look around a bit before you decide. You probably want to look at their customer support and the degree of reliability, security and speed of access. Once you have identified a hosting provider check to see if anyone has reviewed them. Usually you can find a few people willing to share their experiences, good and bad.
You definetly need reseller hosting for this. 10GB storage and 200GB bandwidth per month is more than enough.
Better go for the reseller hosting but then you have to spend time for managing accounts and provididng support also. If you do not want to take this botheration then simply get hosting from a reliable host for your customers and let host handle the website support and so on ... Good luck.
