No, not PPC, but PPC reporting. A place where you can get aggregate, detailed reports on your Overture and Google keywords. Both Overture and Google give you conversion tracking pixels, but these don't provide the granularity you need to make keyword bid decisions; they facilitate campaign level mangement; the strategic, not the tactical. But it's tactical decisions that makes strategy a success. I think I can take those Google and Overture reports and provide a method for rolling it all up so that you can view keyword level performance, and do it in one place, and make you tactical level decisions. In addition, I'll be tracking info on the clicks: referer URL, referer IP, User Agent, date/time, etc, which could be very usefull in detecting fraud. 10 clicks in 10 seconds from the same IP with the same User Agent for example. Probably not legit! From my experience running PPC campaigns for a marketing company, I've learned there's no substitute for eyeballs. Every campaign is different, and while some basic rules might apply, ultimately the best performance is achieved by digging into the data to see what's working and what's not.
My initial effort will be a Web Application, where you come to my site, log in, and manage from there. If people like it and use it and the demand is there from customers who want to run it in-house, I'll probably look at providing that type of service. I think that's pretty far in the future though.... As far as my 'company', I'm still in the 'guy with an idea' stage. Fortunately, in this case (which has not always been so!), I have the skills to see if I can bring my idea to life.
I know people managing approx. £5k a day for AdWords for one site. That is just one account someone will look after...
I was spending about $100 per day and had my limits set really high for my various campaigns. I didn't check for a few days and one of my keywords got really popular in the content ads and suddenly I had been spending $500 a day for the past 5 days with no corresponding increase in sales.... OOPS.
manage 4 accounts on AdWords, with about 200 keywords, and spend about $200 a day, though one day a year that jumps to about $4k.
I just started mine today, but I unchecked content. I started with $30 a day, and I wonder how long it starts to kick in? I wanted to track how many sign ups I get. We are looking for editors for our magazine so that was subject to our add. I want to see how it goes for one day and then perhaps change it to 8.00 a day. By the way nice wedding site.....I am planning my wedding actually.
Are you using conversion tracking? It's a must for effective advertising really. Takes the guessing out of it completely.
TOPS30 is right; you need keyword level conversion tracking to run your AdWords or any other PPC to achieve max efficiency. You also need to know some backend stuff as well, such as your profit on a sale and the lifetime value of a customer in order to be able to use those conversions number to manage toward an aquisition goal.
How would I implement them both? I have been reading on the google help, but I am still a bit un-clear.
Well guys I see you telling this member what to do, but what about the software or tool needed to do this?
