With so many social networks and the new search results of google that give you a instant answer so you dont have to enter a site and read a entire article. How many years are left for blogs? Some days i think that blogs are having the same path to failure as myspace...:(

With semantic search Google is displaying more facts and direct answers to queries at the top of the search-results page.

But we're nowhere near the point where it poses a threat to bloggers, searchers are looking for a lot of other information besides simple facts and direct answers.

If the semantic web poses a threat to your website, you have to ask yourself how much value you are really offering. If you have a thin content website, you only have yourself to blame.

While Google offers answers, it also redirects people to blogs. I guess it depends on the quality and how well the writer is known for what he does. So yes. Blogs (at least the high quality ones) are here to stay.

While blogs are turning into websites, we can't predict that it will make its end.

Google and social networks might give you a one word one liner answer but if you need a detailed answer you are sure to need a blog post. Blogs are here to say for quite sometime I guess. The key lies in content quality. If the quality is good your blog will definitely survive any ups and downs in the web business.

I don't know blogs have their own layout that are still different from other content types. I think blogs will continue to be important and play a vital role online for years to come.

I doubt that blogs are having path to failure, because blogs provide more explanatory information to us rather than just general.

Interesting question, but I have to agree with the majority here and say that blogs are here to stay. It is static websites that are slowly diminishing!
