How many words should an article contain?

How many words should an article contain, to not be considered as a spam? I think I know how to write a SEO article but just to be sure, is it enough to write a relevant article of 200 words?

 

I recently read something that the minimum should be around 400 to 500 words, but don't quote me on that.

 

According to latest Panda Update, an article should contain atleast 400-500 words.

You may check the top results for any keyword in Google to verify this, all the top search results have 400-500 words each in their article (Though it may exceed this as well)

the strength of an article is 400-500 words. IF you are writing a content of 200 words then this blog posting not a article submission.

 

Actually really according to the Panda updates you are going to want to focus on writing a little bit more than you used to. Quality/Relevant/Related content is king and will defilement help boost your SERPs. Aim for around 500-1000 words for an article but remember to keep good SEO article writing in mind when creating your articles.

 

Although if you are posting multiple articles say per niche (keyword) on a specific category (keyword) on your blog it would be ok to write 400-500 word articles.

I would stick with what I said above if you are looking to create a very good highly ranked website/blog in Google. I have created many website and have been doing SEO for about 7 years total now so have a lot of experience on what search engines like and don't like and I can tell you that right now they are LOVING unique optimized quality content that related to you audience. If you ever had a chance to take a sneak peak at the latest Google Search Quality Rating Guidelines for 2011 you would see some of what I am talking about. For an example I recently created a new niche website which it's main keyword is searched exactly 2,900 times per month in Google. I Wrote about 5 quality articles, did some more on-site and off-site SEO and have started generating income, and traffic. The site sold exactly $543.50 of affiliate products and started getting Top first page rankings for the main and related keywords which all have global monthly search volume. This was all done in less than one month, 22 days to be exact. This is just one of my latest niche projects that I am currently working on. So in terms of content be sure to focus on it and not lack in that department when doing SEO.

 

SEO article words density must be 500 to 700 words. In this case, the article not count in spam.

Most of Article directory website take 450 to 500 words minimum for submission of article, that why we take 500 minimum articles length. For website article section, blog section and blog post we use according to our requirement their is no any limitation for length.

 

For an ideal article its length should be minimum 400 words, it should be like 400-500 words. Between this length its assumed to be ideal.

Keep your article 450 - 650 words.
Reason : Most of Article Directory didn't accept less than 400 words article and more than 650 words thought the visitor because people don't have enough time to read your lengthy article.
