This is not new. It is the exact wording that was in the last TOS (dated March 8, 2005).

Of course it is. It's just another excuse for them to terminate any account they feel like terminating. <shrug>

I know I've had yahoo mail accounts canceled for inactivity. I thought that was at least 1x a month.

This tempts me to start signing up for hotmail accounts, but I just hate hotmail *so* much...

At the very least, you have a couple of months to get them moving. Which implies you shouldn't bother putting in ads until you're out of the sandbox.

I thought some of the wording had changed. Can't remember now whether they added "valid" or "or valid impressions."

Whatever. As long as you generate decent traffic, they aren't going to ban you.

Excuse my newbieness. I am new here and have already got a lot of excellent information, but I was just reading up on the ad sharing for this particular forum, and looking over the new terms, don't they explicitly prohibit the activity now?

If this has been discussed elsewhere, please forgive me. I just wanted to mention it.

To those that are getting very little traffic and income from their site, I'd suggest buying some traffic at a penny a click from 7Search or a nickel a click at Google Adwords. Depending on your niche, you should be able to buy some traffic and if you are working with one of these ad publisher, you should get a good idea of what top bids and potential payouts are.

Many people try to make it on free, natural traffic but I don't mind spending $0.25 to buy $1.

Ive been told by a couple of the regulars here........ not to post about such things when I don't use common sense. Seems they say 'google won't drop you if someone does that to your account'.

Google Support just emailed me about this issue...

They told me that every google search performed thru these google webSearch boxes you can add to your site is costing them money. Therefore, it can happen that google's actually loosing money on a publisher.

They told me that this issue is not something most publishers have to worry about.

Nevertheless, I'll get rid of the searchbox cause I wanna be on the safer side..

Thanks...... I never have seen them before. I tried adwords some, but even at 5 cents a click, man I soon was spending more fast then I made on adsense, lol

It's easy getting traffic at 5 cents or more a pop, but when they visit and leave without clicking or buying, one can go through money fast with no profit to show, even at a lowely 5 cents per visitor
