Yes, we all know content drives the internet, but the word "content" is not IMHO a good keyword to use in a domain name. Visitors are not going to ask for "dad" + "content", but more likely something like: "dad" + "soccer" or something related to their needs, but not the word "content". And BTW, content is not a niche. A niche could be "dad" +"child support issues", etc. I have one huge site, and now that it has some PR I am going to begin adding sites and linking the big one to the newies. How many at first? Probably three small ones in 2006. Doing fine with the huge one.
whatever you say bro, whatever you say /me at the moment own 2 sites with adsense. Should put that number, much much higher, very soon.
That's what I thought too. He must have been drunk when he came up with that idea and got drunk again when he decided to go ahead with it. I mean I like risk takers but this is just too much. All the best to him though.
Hmmm (blech)content.com makes me think of about.com. Except about.com pays you to write content instead of charging you $389 for the privilige. I suppose the draw is supposed to be that the 1500 interlinking sites will give you high PR...hopefully. Of course you could blog for free and spend the money on your own advertising and not hitch your wagon to someone elses vision/scheme. I wonder how trustRank will effect this. One of the things trust is assumed to do is check how long the domain was registered for. So assuming the $10k is correct, to get past the 1/year low TR barrier youd have to spend some multiple of that. Another thing they might have to overcome is that the pages remind me of those domain grabber type pages. The ones they throw up for expired domains. I hit the back button pretty fast when I see one fo those. just my 2cents
check out some of his other sites, i think his mega plan is doomed to fail: http://www.theravenproject.com http://www.crowsites.com The script he is speaking of seems to be a free script available from http://www.articledashboard.com LOL! And it looks like he is a complete noob at adsense: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=29133 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=29232 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=29261
What a joker this guy is. Millionares backing him.. lol. They buy him a domain out of pity, stop telling lies. You just blew a wad of cash for nothing dude.
HA HA .... Its Funny how while searching the web I ran across a thread about my project before I even knew about DP. I find it halarious that some of the same people that have commented negatively have purchased links and have submitted articles to these sites! (not meant rude nor cocky) I know we had our difficulties and we learned alot along the way.. and I imagine I still have alot to learn. But I can tell you that I know the project will continue to succeed and I can say that last month we had a ton of traffic and it still continues to grow. I think if I could point out the biggest hurdles we finding the resourses to hiring a good programmer and not knowing if he is honest Had I been a member of DP it would have been a big help as many of you people know your stuff. As far as the project goes - It will be a success NO doubt .. ecspecially knowing what is taking place right now with the new people who have taken the helm.
Hey Thanks for the input Koullis, By the way have you ever read a really good book called "How to win friends and influence people"? If not you might want to check it out! Have a good day and watch out for low flying Crows they are all over this forum!
We have around 70 web sites... very difficult to manage that many, so starting to consolidate these down and focus on fewer sites and improving content and quality.
To chime in... I have 30 websites. Several are subfolders of the same domain. Some pay the rent, others candy bars. All are unique content.
