To answer the original question about how many visitors a day Google gets: I read some research recently that put the figures at something like 200,000 regular users per day, plus another 900,000,000 visits per day from webmasters desperately looking for their dropped pages. The same study concluded that "site:" was the most popular keyword typed into Google's search box, with "link:" following closely on it's tail. These two keywords alone now account for 98.3% of all of Google's searches according to published figures. According to AdWord insiders, bidding for the keywords "site:" and "link:" has recently "...gone completely nuts!", said one insider, adding "we've seen bids as high as $400 a click for the single keyword 'site:'".
Actually, they would have more if they ever found out about the redirects to my sites!!!!!!!! Hee hee! Sssssshhhhhh! Who said that????
It would be helpful if they revealed their daily visitors, I would know if my visitors declining or increasing is relative to the number of people browsing the interne.t
You'll never be able to tell how many people are browsing the Internet just from Google's traffic. Heck, they aren't even the most popular site. Plus they just get a small percentage of all Internet traffic. Yeah, it's more then our sites get, but it's tiny compared to the total amount of Internet traffic as a whole.
