I'm trying to do some research on the number of visitors to different kinds of sites to see if there are types of sites which gain more visitors than others. What I would like you to do is tell us what kind of site you have, how many visitors a day you get and how long you have had your site. I realise there are a lot of factors in there but I'm hoping to see some trends that will make the information usefull I have a web design site It gets 40 visitors a day It's been running for about 12 months
I have a real estate site with 100+ active agents I get 150+ visitors a day (direct visitors and not from SE & PPC) Its been running for 2 years I have a outsourcing marketplace site with 150+ active members I get 200+ visitors a day (direct visitors and not from SE & PPC) Its been running for 2 years I have a content site w/ free software downloads with over 180+ active members I get 200+ visitors a day (direct visitors and not from SE & PPC) Its been running for almost six months
It all depends on the target group. If you have a website about the life history of Norman Jay Coleman you should be real happy with 5 visitors a day. On the other hand if you have a web site about George W. Bush then you could always get another visitors (you should never be happy).
Exactly, which is why I want to quantify as close as possible to the average number of visitors to each kind of site. It may end up being unquantifiable but it should give a clearer picture of the kind of activity different sites obtain.
There are a lot of variables in these sort of things. Especially how good your SEO is and what positions you have in the SERPS. As my position moves up my traffic moves up. Naturally. My site is obviously a dating site specializing in Russian ladies. We are currently getting about 450 unique visitors a day. I hope to be able to add a 1 to the beginning of that one of these days. Been on line almost 7 years.
We have two (2) real estate websites. Site #1: In September [Pre-SEO] we averaged 91 visits per day. Now [Post-SEO] we average 400+ visits per day and climbing. The site has been running since 2000. Site #2: We average 200+ visits per day and climbing. The site has been running since September 2004.
www.digitalpoint.com gets about 100,000 unique visitors per day. forums.digitalpoint.com gets about 8,000 unique visitors per day. All my other sites range from 500 - 3,000 unique visitors per day.
Well deserved..its a lesson in what offering something unique can do for a site. I'm sure you haven't had to ask for a link in a long time and they keep increasing regardless.
What kind of site is it? For those that dontwant to read the first page of the thread, can you give me the kind of site it is, the number of visitors and how long the site has been running. Thanks
homeless site 3,000+ pageviews per day another 'youth site' 3,000+ pageviews per day I go for many related terms but the money terms really are the big traffic draw cards.
We get about 2000 uniques a day with about 30,000 hits. Almost all the uniques are relevant visitors.
