My number is garbage and I don't know why, I can see for the more saturated niche, but I've been writing a lot for a smaller and newer niche but I'm averaging the same as my first niche overall, I even use sweet "3 keys" titles and crap like that and good keywords which have decent ratios. What do you guys average on your articles, obviously after they leave the top page they go way down, but just wanted to compare. Thanks!

JESUS I'm getting killed! I mean I knew the niche could play a big role but you're blowing me out of the water. That reallly sucks, ok I gotta find even smaller niches I take it, cos I thought the rest of my writing and keywords, etc. was pretty solid.
i dont get what you mean by smaller niches? these are my stats from a very popular niche for viewers but is just in the middle for people writing about it
Yeah I just suck at finding them, I gotta figure something out though, like this is serious. This says to me that if I just find a better niche that, given my work ethic, I could make a living from this, cos I'm getting trickles in my niches. It's like one little change in a niche and I'd be so better off, how can i find it jeeze. I've written maybe 20 more articles than you and I've got a fraction of the views, like a tiny fraction.
The niche is an important factor, but more important is the keyword. Your Ezine article must be ranked high in SE's for specific keyword/s, otherwise it will produce some short-term traffic and will die. Smaller niches are easier because they have less competition and more keywords to dominate, but that doesn't mean you have to stay away from bigger markets.
I've heard many interpretations as far as what is ideal goes with keywords when you're picking them out. How about 1,000 monthly searches for a long tail on google's word tracker and less than 50,000 competing pages when entering the long tail in quotes in google search?
50k pages is quite a lot, if you are going to use Ezine only. If you go for that keyword, then you will definitely need to send backlinks to your article, because I am sure, you won't even appear on the first page just by submitting an article.
Well I use other article sites and submit multiple articles with that keyword to ezine, as well. I just heard that article writing is the best way to get good and permanent traffic. I opened up a new thread in the clickbank forum to help out for my keyword selection so hopefully i can figure this out once and for all.

You guys must have some sweet keywords to be averaging nearly 1000 views per article. By sweet I mean uncompetitive and you're dominating them.
These are my stats: Article(s) Views:81,191 Profile Views: 976 Articles Published:228 URL Clicks:25,380 Emailed:5 Comments:11 Votes:33 Live Articles:76 It very much depends on the niche - my best article has 35,000+ views in less than a year, my worst has less than 100. Some articles work like gangbusters and some just bomb. You've just got to keep trying different niches until you find one that really works well in EZA - then you just milk it as much as you can.
I just had one article that got 2,170 views in it's first two days. jm55: Have you done better than that?
I have yet to work on optimizing my articles for traffic long term, these are some rather impressive figures. I typically use social bookmarking on my articles to get an extra boost.
Could you explain a little bit deeper on it that how can we get backlinks for a article that has approved?
You can get backlinks from the article itself and from people who use your article (and bother to keep the link intact of course).

On average I could usually get around 1000+ views in a short time per article, it depends mainly on a few factors, if you headline is good enough to cause curiousity for the reader to click through and read. The keywords that you are also using and whether or not there is the search volume for it.
