    If you want to see explanations and examples of all sitemap file kinds, check this sitemaps article. Not sure why you are asking regarding US/India since that is unrelated to the number of different sitemap file kinds that exist

    There can be many types depending on the protocol. If you follow http://www.sitemaps.org/ protocol, most of the standard search engines will be able to find you. But you can create unlimited number of bespoken sitemaps as you wish, i have 2 versions of sitemaps. All 2 of them are XMl sitemaps, one is for Google and other one is for some other site specific search engine. For 2nd one i follow my own dtd...

    I used main sitemap, mobile sitemap and video sitemap.

    Image sitemap is a good idea too.

    More sitemaps - Google will crawl your web-site better.

    Basically sitemap create for visitor and search engine know easy way about our page..every where site map use same of type. if you use for USA and india then you would like for search engine then xml sitemap. you have to use HTML sitemap in case of visitor for usa and india.

    True, but there is also different types of XML sitemaps, i.e. Video sitemap, as well as a regular sitemap.

    In XML Sitempa you can have different type of Sitemap.

    1. XML Sitemap for Page / Post
    2. XML Sitemap for Image(s)
    3. XML Sitemap for Video(s)
    4. XML Sitemap for Newsites

    One more sitemap type is HTML Sitemap
