I've heard that it is best to open a new Twitter account for every website I operate. Does anyone have any experience or views

I was thinking the same thing but maybe its better to have one major website where all the other sites are tied into, and use this major website for the twitter account.

I think you're best using one Twitter account at the start. Once you've build a big following you could look to start a 2nd. You could then use the 1st account to get some new users to follow you.

See how it goes first. If you are only having a few followers for each site you produce then there is no point. You may as well just operate with one account.

I only have one main one and my personal one, at the moment, but once I get set up with a couple more popular blogs I'm definitely going to create a separate Twitter for each. It really depends on how much you enjoy using social media - if you barely tolerate it as a necessary evil then I'd suggest going with one main Twitter account which you put all your effort into. That way you can also keep your tweets nice and diverse, which will lead to a much stronger, central social media presence over time.

it depends what you plan to tweet on these accounts. If you plan to tweet the same subjects, there is no point of having multiple accounts.

It's best to create one twitter account for each site you have. The problem is that you need to manage all the accounts and post different tweets on each account, but if you have some time and you like posting tweets you can easily do this. If you will post the same tweets on all of your twitter accounts you will have your accounts suspended very quickly...

I think you should have one twitter account for each niche if you are doing affiliate marketing. If you are running a few sites with the same niche, you should use one and build that one huge.

I have only one Twitter account to promote my online service and application products. I don't like to spam the social networks.

You can create different twitter accounts in each website you have but make sure that you have 1 twitter account that has a lot of followers so you can promote your other websites.

If your websites cover vastly different subject matters (For example, one sells shoes - the other is a marketing firm) - then yes, I would. If they're all pretty much the same stuff under a different URL, no - I would not.

That's what I do. I have one twitter for each blog. My blogs all promote separate niches so it makes more sense to have separate twitter accounts for each one. Sometimes my blog posts overlap so I retweet just those tweets.

It totally depends how you will market your sites.

If you have a Twitter account for coupons/discounts/deals, for example, you can promote all your sites on one account.

If you want to have a social networking account for each site, obviously you create a new one for each.

It just depends how specific you want the themes of the accounts to be. Make some of both: Specific to a site and some accounts that give bonuses to all of them.

Remember, it's like 7-10 accounts allowed per IP.

Can you really only have 7-10 accounts? Well, I need to be careful now. I think I'm at 6 currently. Maybe I should look into setting up a general account. What would a general twitter account look like?
