When your site is hacked by a Saudi hacker, is you site a "hacking" related page? It's a yes or no question. My site was hacked and had nothing to do with the world of hacking. Now, to make it clear, I put the link of my site in the underground forum, and when you clicked on the URL, you could read: "This site has been hacked by *whatever the name of these f*****rs* from Saudi Arabia. Allah akhbar whatever/don't recall well all the BS..." No porn whatsoever... I was asking help or what I could do to avoid that problem at that time. Now, I know that if you post an URL of a hacked site in the underground forum, you will be banned for 6 months. This has to be known as a rule. Rule I didn't obviously know.
The site stayed hacked for about 2 hours. Then, empty. And since it was last November, I suspect you don't even know what we are talking about...
You were not banned for that one post. You received an infraction for that one post. But you had enough points from previous infractions that your new infraction resulted in a ban.
I see. So can you provide a scale with number of infraction points / ban time? I had a 10 points infraction - 7 days B/S/T ban because I posted: "Could you PMme with details. Thanks!" Fair enough. Then a 5 points for "Profile infraction" (whatever that means). So I can assume 15 points in a 6 months ban...and 10 points is only a 7 days ban Am I close?
I was taking care of that i should not get any ban or infraction, but i got one infraction 3 days ago for inappropriate post/thread. It was not an inappropriate post i guess, Anyway it will get expired in Aug, So no probs, Now am having only one infraction. . Had 2 before, but those are expired. .
Nope. Not even. Or maybe I just didn't follow what you were trying to say. Lemme see if I can explain. 10 infraction points = a ban no matter what. If you get two 5 point infractions, or ten 1 point infractions, or one 10 point infraction it's all the same. Different infractions carry different point values and different durations. Most infractions are 1 point, Attacking/Harassing Other Members is 2 points, Spamming is 5 points, Duplicate Accounts is 10 points. So which infractions you get, and how far apart you get them will determine the length of your ban. Once you hit 10 points, the software automatically bans your account until at least one of those infractions expires. If you hit 10 points on a particular day, and one of your older infractions expires the next day, you would only be banned for a day. The 7 day B/S/T ban is simply a 10 point infraction that expires in 7 days. Profile infractions (as explained here) are given when a member has broken a rule too many times in several different threads. We can just leave the infraction on their profile instead of leaving it on each specific post. We also can use this if the infraction is given for something on their profile (sig links, avatar, etc) that is inappropriate. And, as stated on the post that I linked to earlier: The staff here have the final say on what is appropriate and what is not. And if you have any questions concerning a specific infraction, check your email. The forum software automatically generates an email that tells you which post you are receiving the infraction for, along with (usually) further explanations of why you are receiving the infraction. I hope that helps.
Hey Buffy, I just having a doubt in this statement, here it is You have mentioned like this, I have known that duplicate accounts takes to you to a permanent ban isn't it?? Is it 10 points of infraction means, Will it expire after that?? Bit confusing buffy, Please explain. .
Not always. In some cases we will give a temp ban to the original account and permanently ban all other accounts. Sometimes the situation warrants permanent bans all around.
I was banned once for 6 month for sending an unsolicited pm - learned my lesson and I now walk on the right side of the law )
Oh okay fine, Well if it's a warning of 10 points, Usually how many days it will be?? I mean, if it's not a permanent ban, How long it will be banned?? Hope you understand my question lol
I'd like to commend Buffalo for reaching out to a DP member who was banned some time ago and working to help him get his account reinstated. The account is not repaired yet, but in instances like his the thought and the effort really is important.
