I check when I get to work in the morning and usually another time in the afternoon. If I'm on the computer before bed, I'll check then too. I used to be insane about checking, but I finally figured out that I'll be making something (or nothing) whether I check it or not!.
i usually check once a day, usually in the morning when i wake up just to see if by some miracle a few thousand clicks have appeared, so far no but one day I'm sure I'll wake to a nice surprise, failing that, waking up next to Natalie Portman will do

Once in the morning, once when I get back home at night on busy days. Once every couple hours when I'm farting around at home.
I check it out every day. I think its wise to do that. So that you get the status of your site visitors and your earning aswell and depending on that you can act accordingly.
