I am not a text guy... I hate typing SMSs and i hate forwarding stupid SMSs too. so hardly 5-10 in a month..that too i rather doubt.
I have a strange way of sending sms to friends. If Iam getting a seat to sit in bus my immediate activity is to compose text messages to friends. Most of my sms to friends were composed during travelling in bus. My number of sms per a day depends upon number of times I get seat in bus per month.
Well, right here in Singapore the prevalent culture is to have a balance of both: sometimes we call, sometimes we send SMSes. You also get "unconformists" from either end of the spectrum, like my parents, whom are ardent callers, and some of my friends, who are dead opposed to talking to people (they tell me it is because they are shy). Usually the mobile plans here start from SG$25, and comes coupled with 500 free SMSes, and 100 minutes of call-time. I managed to get onto their student plan which gives me an additional 500 SMS to burn. We have some quirks here though: free-incoming calls is a feature of only some plans, and my cell operator happens to be the only one which charges by the second, which means I pay only for what I use. Sometimes I see the cell plans for other countries, like Canada (they have a paltry 19 free SMS for one plan which they pay a monthly fee for!), and I wonder how some of my countrymen would survive if they ever tried to live there for an extended period of time.
Are you serious? I know many friends who would do anything to get unlimited SMS; now I'll just ask them if they are willing to move to India...
Well, yea SMS here are really cheap. but the Unltd messages are only valid if you send them within your state.
i just got 400 SMS all over India free for doing Over recharge! But iam sure i won't even use 4. There is a lot of competition here, which is helping us.
I am on Airtel, what are you using? Unltd. SMS in your state is Rs.100 ($2) per month and 3000 SMS all over India (National) are Rs.65 ($1.5) per month.
same here, less than 1 a day. but i had 3 or so at monday - that was a quite annoing because i prefer emails.
Never sent one, don't intend to start anytime soon. See no purpose for me to text anyone, never had the need or desire.
