How Many Sites do you Work On?

Random question I know but I must ask. How many websites do you work on at once. How many websites do you let sit around and collect dust?

I'm curious because I'm scrabblin' to get organized. I get great ideas for domains, fire them up, build content and poof! Move to the next site to work on...

I would advise just working on the one site making that a success and then moving on but that never seems to happen with me, currently i have two main projects one thats been on going for the last 9 months and one which drifted in to focus around January.

As well as this i have another several sites that i run and let them run naturally i keep an eye on them but i don't really do much with them.

I have sold sites in the past, when its gone abit hectic and i have needed to maintain my concentration on a few sites but it never lasts, another idea pops up and there you go i have another site.

I am also currently sitting on a couple of ideas, which i have forced myself not to develop yet.

Right now I'm just hovering under the 50 mark I think. I'd have to check my spreadsheet to make sure. Of those 50, only a handful (less than 10) require any kind of attention on a regular basis.

Unique content sites, blogs with PageRank and then I have a bunch of sites that run on custom scripts I've written that I would categorize as news sites.

I have around 20 or so active sites but force myself to work on just 5 of them in any sort of serious manner. The rest are generally sitting around and attaining greater domain age and backlink age for when i really want to do something with them.

I do sometimes build a new site, fill it as much as possible with content, build a decent number of links and then sit on it waiting for it to age. The important thing is to at least try to add some fresh content/links every so often so Google doesn't see a completely stale site. I give myself one or two days a month on these lesser sites just to keep them ticking along in terms of growth.

I forgot to answer this above...

It's not a big deal really. If you get a decent account at DreamHost or HostGator you can host a lot of small sites for less than $20/month. I wouldn't recommend that for a high traffic, high profile site but for the small kinds I deal with it's perfect.

I have 3 sites I actively work on, and quite a few that just kind of sit on autopilot. About 15, actually. They're sitting there and I have ideas, but I just find it kind of hard to accomplish the goals on the three to even consider the rest. What they do provide is usually just some supporting links to my main targets.

I have 3 sites that I primarily work on and about 20 that need very little if any care.
Actually I guess I should say 4 sites that I work on however the 4'th isn't really designed to make money due to it's niche, mostly just a hobby.
