How many should I be using

I just curious to know how many keywords should I use?

Is using too many a bad thing?
How many is too many?

I think that is the best to use three keywords per page (not talking about density).

Wow, I still got a lot to learn.

I only have one metatag which is part of the Admin Control Panel(invisionfree) that I can add. There I can add a metatag. I would assume it's for the whole site, but I don't know how many keywords I should be adding, and what is good or bad.

What? 20 keywords? 80? 10? 5 common keywords used?

 

For each page, you shall be only focus on around 3 keywords. These 3 shall appear in your title, meta description, meta keyword, in the page content, etc, among them, only meta keyword is not important but you'd better have. In the meta keyword tag, you can put as many as you can.

 

You can target 5 major and 5 minor Keyword in each page.

 

But in Meta Keyword it would be a waste wouldn't it, to put in more than 3 or 4 keywords, as its carrying virtually no weight, i hear the recommendation for your Meta Keyword is about 3 or 4.

 

You should target maximum of 3 keywords per page used within the page content. Targeting too many keywords for a single page might be considered keyword spamming.

 

Its not really the number that you are using per page - but how many different pages that each target a different keyword or keyword phrase - especially keyword phrases that people are actually typing in when they are searching for the type of content that is on your website
