How many sales do you think I should make?

Ok we hear it all the time.

The money is in the list!

I have an email list of over 11,500 people that I've built up since I started working online some 4+ years ago. I have people telling me I should be making at least 10k a month with this size of a list.

Well guess what I'M NOT

I use to do good with this list way back in the day when I was running a lot of offers and the list was "fresh" not years and years old. I stopped building the list about a year ago and since then have just blasted out a few emails a month promoting small products and programs. In doing so I'm lucky to earn a couple hundred bucks :(

The math I did was simple 11,500 people. Say the product I promote converts at 1% I should do 115 sales? Ok lets cut that in half just for the heck of it so about 57 sales. Nope didn't even come close. I made 3 sales when I blasted out a clickbank product.

So does this sound right? How many sales do you think I should be making?

It's not all about the quantity, is what you do to the list, what kind of people they are. You need to treat them well, build their trust, provide them with quality stuff, so they build some respect for you.

Simply having the list, not treating the leads well, and blasting them about something just wont cut it. Of course, you need to market them with a targeted product for the niche they're in,

Email marketing is much more complicated, than what you think.

It's not just about how many people are on your list, or what product you are promoting.

Check out this video made by Frank Kern, where he talks about many other factors > http://masscontrolsite.com/blog/?p=52

I think in a way you have answered your own question.

You say that when the list was new and you were interacted with the niche you were making alot more money.

If the list has gone "stale" and you have not sent out any good content then just a few offers I can see this happening.

For a way to bring life back into the list why don't you send out an email and ask them what there biggest problem is in your niche and offer a free report for being a good subscriber.

Also explain you have been a way for a little while but you are back with a bang and are going to be supplying top info on XYZ.

After a few weeks interacting with your list again things should pick up...

    Hope this helps.
