How many sales a day should I get with 100 uniques/$8 product

Sorry I havn't posted for a day, I was travelling all day yesterday.

Ok, thank you for your replies - I'll try to get them back on topic... and it's nice to see some of you making $3000 dollars a month, but the most I've ever been near is 10 times less of that.

(and believe it or not, this forum will be listed as one of the top referring websites except search engines, on my website stats).

Sometimes I get no sales for 5 days, sometimes I get 1 a day, 3 days in a row. The most I've got is 2 in 1 day, but there was a 6 day gap around it.

It should spread out to 1 a day, but over the course of a month, it's about 15-20, which means it's a 0.5% conversion rate, which is awful.

For those who were asking about the list, I have a small box that comes up on the homepage with an option to signup to the list, and some free guides that are avaliable if they sign up to the list. I'm not really bothered with it becuase I really don't see how it can make me any money.
For the record there's about 700+ on my mailing list (there are about 25 more listed but some might be fake).

Do you think there are any ways I can improve my sales page to get a higher CTR or any marketing techniques to get better traffic (such as Digg or Squidoo)?

 

wow 700 on your mailing list and you're not doing anything with it? Geeez, start marketing/building relationship with those people you're losing money there!

First your sales page definitely could be improved. It's kind of short, I would not have the Order now button so early on the sales page. Let them warm up to the idea first.

Also because of all the images and textboxes, I find I don't really read the text because the images are distracting me too much. The lack of white space is really making me uncomfortable also for reading.

Add in more white spaces and clearer subheadings, at the moment the information just seems to be slapped on quickly and definitely could be improved.

By doing that I'm sure you'll improve your conversions, also I wonder if traffic from DP is all that targeted...

 

reading all the posts i have nevr heard about the support .

the sales are made when you have good support fro th website quick reply to the visitors question and evn after sale support will let the customer get back to you again when need anything which is available at your website.


so all what you need is ..

Professional Looking website + Seo/Advertising + Good Support

and you get good sales even in every 20 visitors.

Ok, I only included the DP being on the top referral sites becuase I really need help in getting more traffic from Stumbleupon and squidoo etc. but don't know how.

I am going to improve the sales page, maybe Frank Kern's idea is too far, or maybe I should use it.

 

Support is key, as mentioned above, especially on larger products. It builds trust and confidence. I would also advise having some in-your-face way of showing the site is maintained, like a quick update with the date in bold above on the main page. Try some testimonials. You can only improve your CTR.

I'm not sure if you're product is a script or ebook or other? But get listed in directories like Hotscripts, or write an article outlining the ebook you're selling and get it out there.
