I am having a doubt.I am inviting proxy site owner who run there sites on dedicated servers to comment. For a server with, • 512MB DDR RAM How many proxy sites can be run without any problem ?
keep making them until the server starts showing to crumble up. Than remove few of them and use redirection (301) for proxies on other server. You got the idea, right use everything of server as much as possible. By the way, 512 MB is not much. You also need a powerful CPU other than RAM. I will say stick with 20 proxies. How much BW u have ? Oh and one more thing, If you have some proxies than I can add them here. I maintain that section of the site, just give a backlink to that page and pm me ur proxies.
• Celeron 2.0GHz • 512MB DDR RAM • 120GB Hard Drive • 600GB Bandwidth • 100Mbps Port • CentOS Powered I got an offer with $65 for it and can I run 20 proxies with more than 500 visitors in each, per day ??? And can any proxy owners help me to find a dedicated server at low cost and high resources ?
500 visitors a day might be 10-15k proxy page views a day. RAM is the key. Web process on your server might require 20-40M of memory or more. If you only have 512M that doesn't leave you much room for web processes after the base OS requirements. I'm sure 512M of ram will cut it for 500 not too heavy users daily. It will will just get slow as you hit your memory limits. Then you know you need to upgrade
People say layeredtech are the best for running proxies. You can get something like 2Tb BW + 1GB RAM for $100. Please check them for latest offerings.
i am also looking for a good deal on a dedicated server since i will be running about 20-25 forums, 1 blog, 1 shop, and about 3-5 proxy websites...what would you guys reccomend?
