Only PR1 and above links count and not PR0 links! even if you have more than 10,000 PR0 links ,you would be still at PR0
Not true. If this was true, then no site would ever have PageRank, since all sites start at zero. All PageRank is is a measure of link popularity. 10,000 PR0 links would most certainly give you some very solid PageRank. Jon
I actually tested this once. I started a site 1 week before pagerank updated. I added the link to my sig here and made 100 posts and it actually got me PR3 with no other links!
PR1+ will definitely carry more weight (so does the number of outbound links on that page and a bunch of other factors), but the number of PR0 links still count.
One of my site has PR 5 without ever making a single backlink for it And yes I registered the domain name and it was brand new not a dropped one.
It is impossible to tell.. However, it is not difficult to gain a PR1 if you have been building links through article submission, forum signature etc since the start of the site.
Just wondering, and this might be a complete newb question, But how do you know when PR is updating?? Like you knew one week in advance??
If you start making links just 1 week before pagerank update, you wont get PR in that update, because 3-4 weeks old snapshot of PageRank is exported, not one day old snapshot.
