Hello, My question is short I'd like to know if someone know about my example..... For example how many links PR8 to get a PR8 on a home page? Thanks, Jakomo
I believe 2 would do it if your link was the only outbound link on each of those pages, but since that'll never be the case it'll go up from there.
The correct answer depends on how many outgoing links are on the page linking to you. Each page can pass approximately 85% of its PR, but that is divided between the number of outgoing links i.e. a page with only (1) outgoing link will pass 10X the PR vs. the same page with 10 outgoing links. Toolbar PR is always a look at the past, so if you get a link from a site showing as PR6 in the toolbar, but the site has lost it's backlinks since the last PR update, it will pass no PR. Toolbar PR is rounded down. A PR6 site could be a PR 6.01 or a PR 6.99 (you have no sure way to tell). Say it is a PR 6.5 x 85% = PR 5.53 divided between the number of links on the page. Each increase in PR requires almost 6X the amount of PR to increase by a factor of one. So if your site is a PR5, you need to duplicate what you did 6X to get a PR6.
Spookily someone is discussing this very point in this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=277863 The site linked to has a table proclaiming to answer your question.
Hi I think this link will help you for a better understanding of PR valuse of links. Please note that even they are not sure--it is just an outline --approx. Only big daddy knows actual values http://www.kenkai.com/google-pagerank-table.htm Green rep always appreaciated
Wow ! Nice table there. If that were to be true then maybe my sites would have a PR5 this coming update.
That table is awesome but its also kind of depressing - man - 18 links from pr8s to get a pr8 - thats tough I always thought the PR levels were 10 base - like ten PR1 sites = one PR2 ten PR2 = one PR3 but that table seems to say its more like 5 base five PR1 = one PR2 interesting data
Haha Jude-- You have more links than just those I am hoping for PR7 for your sites--but if not strong PR6 is confirmed
It all depends on number of links on a particular page + PR Only google know the algorithm they are using.
What, you're using Roman Algebra now...? I think you should be using letters if it's Algebra, not numerals... No, X + X = XX, even the Romans knew that. -Michael Centurion: What's this, then? "Romanes eunt domus"? People called Romanes, they go, the house? Brian: It says, "Romans go home. " Centurion: No it doesn't ! What's the latin for "Roman"? Come on, come on ! Brian: Er, "Romanus" ! Centurion: Vocative plural of "Romanus" is? Brian: Er, er, "Romani" !
